Let’s talk about the “gram”

I work with a number of everyday entrepreneurs and I hear very similar concerns about social media. From people not wanting to use it, to people not knowing where to start, their concerns are all valid.

After 12+ years in the online marketing world, I’ve come to understand the role and purpose of social media in a very different way than what is pushed in our day and age.

I’m here to tell you, that despite what you’ve heard, Instagram is NOT the end-all-be-all of marketing. It should not be your only focus when it comes to getting your business or project out to the correct people. We forget that traditional marketing has successfully been around for much, much longer and still works!

It is one of many tools you can use to expand your presence, but it should not be the only one you use.

You don’t have to be on it 24/7 and making multiple reels a day. I mean, you definitely can if you want.

But I propose some other options instead of catering to the “gram” life:

You can also use it minimally and as a placeholder OR you can just not do it OR you can use regularly but with healthy boundaries. Whichever way you use it, use it as a tool and not your whole life.

Lately, I’m deciding to just not participate. “Screw the Algorithm” and just don’t participate. I am choosing to put my energy elsewhere and into more old-fashioned marketing techniques. Come join me!

Let’s break down the perception that you have to cater to the “gram” to be successful at life, in business, or at anything else. Let’s focus more on doing the things, and less time worrying about instagram.
