If you’ve been wondering “What’s with the black cat everywhere?” this is her.
Lil’ Kimchi is the little black cat you’ll spot around my website (and often on my desk). She’s my not-so-helpful-but-also-deeply-helpful studio assistant — equal parts muse, mischief, and reminder to pause between projects.
She’s always nearby while I work, keeping me company, demanding breaks, grabbing my toes, and making sure I don’t take things too seriously.
After losing my previous furry angel, I didn’t expect another little one to come into my life so soon. But Kimchi found her way to us, and she’s been my shadow ever since.
She likes to sit on the corner of my desk and slap her tail around while I type, or wrap her arms around my right arm while I’m working on live website changes. She’s playful, persistent, and always seems to know when I need a break, a hug, or a reset.
Out of all of the critters in my office, she definteily has the most tech, SEO, and website experience.
In the logo, Lil' Kimchi has a crescent moon on her forehead. In real life, she doesn’t — that symbol came from something personal.
When I lived in Oregon, I used to bike past a black cow with a waning crescent moon marking on her forehead. She wasn’t always there, but she always showed up when I needed a quiet reminder that I was being watched over.
I was born under a waning moon, and that symbol has always stayed close. It felt natural to bring it into the studio — moon above, black cat beside, ground under my feet.
Between my black cat, the waning crescent moon, and the mix of candles, intuition, and music that fill my workspace, this is what Sidler Studios really is.
Far from a tech bro setup — this is a tech alchemist’s workshop. A place where creativity, systems, and a little bit of magic all coexist.
